Dual Credit Courses

Frances Kelsey is one of many schools that is part of the South Island Partnership (SIP) with Camosun College and Vancouver Island University.

As a member school in this partnership, students have the opportunity to enroll in dual credit courses where they can earn both high school and post secondary credits.  Students interested in dual credit opportunities should make an appointment in the Career Centre.

Students interested in a career in the trades may be able to complete their graduation requirements while learning their trade in an Accelerated Enrolment Credit in Industry Training (ACE IT) program.  Some of the ACE IT options for students are hairdressing, welding, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, culinary, heavy duty mechanics, refrigeration and air conditioning, sheet metal and automotive service technician.  For more information on careers in the trades, check out this useful link:  Careers in Trades.

FKSS also offers the Trades Awareness, Skills and Knowledge (TASK) program in partnership with Camosun College.  Please contact the Career Centre if you are interested in this program: fksscareerssecretary@sd79.bc.ca
