Some students in PE classes are going skating in the upcoming days and are reminded to bring any helmet they have as it is mandatory to wear one on ice. If they have their own skates, they are also asked to bring those. Dates of skating are as follows:

Our Model UN students were on a field trip today with their teacher, Ms. O'Hara, to VIU in Nanaimo after their preparation to represent a country. Explore UVic – in-person open house

For students considering the University of Victoria, they strongly recommend visiting their campus for Explore UVic on Saturday, November 25. This is the best opportunity for them to tour the campus and get a clearer sense of the opportunities available to them in the campus environment. Registration is available online now!

Congratulations to Alexa and Charlotte on their amazingly fast races at yesterday’s Provincial Cross Country Championships! Alexa ran in the senior girl’s race and came first! Charlotte ran in the junior girl’s and came 50th out of 230! Well done runners! #sd79 #fkssathletics #fksscrosscountry

Frances Kelsey is excited to offer the Equestrian Academy @Millshaw Meadows Equestrian Centre for a second semester. In order to begin planning, we are asking interested families to contact Cathie at millshaw@shaw.ca. This uniquely structured academy is designed to fit the needs of various ability levels, disciplines and types of riders. The curriculum allows students to pursue excellence in their discipline as an equestrian as well as develop skills for lifelong learning. This Academy seeks to provide a flexible, personalized approach to education while supporting passions and skills in horse related sports, horse related careers, and post-secondary opportunities. Students receive 8 credits for this two block program and the cost is $3,000 for the semester. #fkssequestrianacademy #sd79 #fkssathletics

Post Secondary Representatives from BC institution

Post Secondary Representatives from BC institutions will visit our school on Tuesday, Nov 7, 2023 and offer two sessions. Sign up for graduating students will be on Wednesday, Nov 1 in Q block. Grade 11s will sign up in front of counselling and Grade 12s will sign up in the theatre after their assembly.
Session 1: 9 am to 9:35am
Session 2: 9:40am to 10:15am
Mini fair in the Dome at 10:25 to 11am
