We believe that it is important for every student to have an adult who knows them and is able to complement the instructional program.
THE ROLE OF THE ADVISOR
Students are assigned to one advisor for the duration of their time at Kelsey to build a continuing relationship between student, advisor, and family. The duties of the advisor include:
· Checking in with the student daily during morning advisor
· Acting as an advocate for each student with other teachers, counsellors, and administrators
· Working with counsellors to guide students through the graduation program and its requirements
· Working with admin to help students understand the code of conduct and their responsibilities
· Encouraging positive mentorship amongst students within the advisor group when possible
· Liaising with parents when necessary
